Help!!

Volunteers play an essential role at the Starlight Walk – the event simply couldn’t go ahead without them. There is a way for everyone to get involved.

Volunteering is rewarding. You get to meet people, there's great team spirit and you'll definitely have fun.

How you can help on the night

Volunteers will help ensure all walkers are safe and enjoying themselves. We don’t necessarily need you to commit to the whole night. We'd be grateful for any time you could spare, even if it is only a couple of hours.

Please click on the roles below for more information on each

• Route marshal - work in pairs along the route giving directions and encouragement to walkers
• Meet and greet volunteer – help meet, greet, direct and assist participants as they arrive, help man various stalls and give walkers a cheer as they set off!
• Finish volunteer – to cheer participants as they return from the walk, give them certificates and guide them to the café for a well deserved cuppa!

How you can help before the event

We need volunteers prior to the night to help publicise the event

• Pre-event promotion volunteer – to help get people involved in the Starlight Walk and therefore raise more money for local people living with cancer. Flexible role depending on the time you’re able to give – from distributing a few leaflets in your town/village to helping write press releases.
• Office placement Starlight Walk PR and marketing volunteer – this placement offers a fantastic opportunity to play a key part in the success of the Starlight Walk. Working from the Norwich Macmillan fundraising office you’ll gain valuable media/PR experience as well as helping us change lives.
